How Not to Spend Your Vacation

Or why I don’t participate in NaNoWriMo. Well, okay, not really. I don’t participate in NaNoWriMo because I spend most of November either on vacation or prepping for Thanksgiving. Since I write every day, I’m not too worried about hitting my own goals.

About my vacation: it certainly wasn’t what I had planned. I planned a vacation of food & wine & movies. Instead, I picked up a virus and spent most of my days lying in bed staring bleary-eyed at the hotel TV watching reruns. During the commercials I managed to get some writing done. Not as much I would have liked, but enough to keep me moving forward. That’s what writing is all about: always moving forward.

  1. It’s still something rather than nothing! I’m fighting off a cold as well. I always seem to get sick when I take a vacation, and I don’t think its a coincidence 🙁 I hope you’re feeling better now!

    1. It’s cold & flu season. You can’t escape it. And there are worse ways to spend your days than watching TV. Hope you feel better too!
